Printed on canvas paper, Laudani and Romanelli’s foldable and disposable placemats are surprising chromatic and spatial illusions for your dining table. An envelope that transforms, for lunch or dinner, into a colourful and elegant placemat with unconventional perimeters.
A project created for the Prima produzione series by Corraini Edizioni, dedicated to unusual projects created by designers young and old.
Marta Laudani and Marco Romanelli, both architects, have worked together since 1988 in their studios in Rome and Milan. Working in the fields of design, interior design and exhibit design, in 2001, for Fiat-Engineering, they headed the restoration of the Museo della Civiltà Romana. Their design work has always been supported by critical research on the themes of living and design: Marta Laudani taught interior design and the history of contemporary design in the architecture department at the Sapienza University of Rome; Marco Romanelli was editor of the magazines “Domus” and “Abitare”.
