Through the use of family anecdotes and analogies with the world of young animals, Alberto Munari explains how the concrete exercise of experimentation and research came to generate some of Bruno Munari's most famous children's books. What emerges from the careful and close observation from the son is the designer's planning approach, the study of cognitive psychology in children and the subsequent free and experimental inventing..
A psychologist and epistemologist, Alberto Munari was a professor at the University of Padua and Professor Emeritus at the University of Geneva, where he lead the Educational Psychology, Training and Human Resources department for more than 30 years. Some of his publications are Il sapere ritrovato (1993), Strategie del sapere. Verso una psicologia culturale (with D. Fabbri, 1984-2005). Around 30 years ago, Donata Fabbri and Alberto Munari founded the Psicologia Culturale and the Epistemologia Operative, which have led to the creation of workshops in LEO training (Laboratorio di Epistemologia Operativa), which is now used in many human resources training programmes in business, schools and both public and private organisatons.
