Created in 2008, the IN Residence project is a workshop that becomes a book, a reflection on contemporary design that comes out of a format that is somewhere between an artist’s residence, an educational seminar, a training Master’s and workshop activities. The eighth edition, held in the usual, evocative setting of the Du Parc Contemporary Suites in Turin, focuses on the theme “Resonance Tuning”. The workgroup analyse the different possible manifestation of the relationship that links individuals to objects, according to a dynamic connection that may reveal different levels of “affection”, “asymmetric empathy” or “resonance”. As in previous editions, the selected designers this year kicked off design research together with the students on the proposed theme, in a continuous and fertile exchange of reflections and opinions.
The designers who took part in the eighth IN Residence workshop are: Marjan van Aubel, Faberhama, Laureline Galliot, OS Δ OOS, Julie Richoz and Philipp Weber.
Barbara Brondi and Marco Rainò are architects, interested in experimentation through design practice, theoretical research and critical engagement in the fields of architecture, graphic design and contemporary design. Creators of a several exhibition and editorial projects, they are the curators of the IN Residence programme.
