They are Sebastian Bagge and Julio Rolle, two Berliners working together since 2003, and doing loads of weird stuff. AIGA has named them the most eccentric designers working today on the international scene: for the first time in Italy, 44flavours make fun and play the spine of their creations. The dominant features of their works are handwriting and color, mixed with graphic design and graffiti. Writing and art merge into different combinations each time, giving light to installations, sculptures or paintings of a heterogeneous nature.
Curious to meet them? Come to 121bookshop!
To make music you don't need instruments; sometimes, tools are enough. To 44flavors, music has always been a source of inspiration, even though they do not know how to play anything. They have, among other things, a strange habit: to associate pieces with the installations, convinced that thus can make contemporary art more understandable and approachable.
In this very new series of works partly made at the bookshop, research started from music, in an attempt to show it and visualize it. The result of this dialogue with the music world has been channeled and took shape in paintings, sculptures and installations on display in 121.
The exhibition will be opened until December 11th.
