In an age where relationships are becoming relentlessly virtual and friendship seems to be a concept limited to social networks, with Face to face book, Martí Guixé invites us to physically discvoer each other again, sitting face to face. To interact, to look at each other in the face, to draw each other.
Martí Guixé’s books are never just books: they are playfully provocative, amusing dialogues with the reader-drawer in which the game becomes food for thought. Once again Martí Guixé invites us to experiment, without taking risks, and to follow the rules of our own originality with a new amusing, ironic “DIY” book.
Martí Guixé was born in Barcelona in 1964. He studied Interior Design in Barcelona and then Industrial Design at Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan. He lives and works “on living matter” between Barcelona and Berlin, devoting himself to inventing “brilliantly simple ideas of curious significance”; a self-designated “ex-designer”, he works for such companies as Alessi, Camper, Chupa-Chups, Desigual, Droog Design, Saporiti e Danese. His work has been exhibited at MoMA, New York, the London Museum of Design, MACBA in Barcelona and the Centre Pompidou in Paris.. Face to face book is his ninth book for Corraini after Toy weapons, Blank Book, Tattoo Book, Food Book, Food Designing, R&D Book, Transition Menu and Cake Book.
