To offer good playing situations is one of the best gifts that one can make to a family: it allows the recovering of good relationships between children and adults. As Munari said, “everyone sees what he knows”: from these words is born the awareness of the importance of offering to the children not only words, but also experiences to let them really know the world. This book describes the experience of the workshops for children by Beba Restelli and Silvana Sperati. The words of the authors and those of Bruno Munari, collected in several interviews, describe the curiosity of children through many direct experiences and practical suggestings. On the other hand, Alberto Munari’s contribution focuses on the nature and the psychological importance of playing in the learning process of children, also referring to the psychological studies about this subject in 20th century. Beba Restelli, formerly Bruno Munari’s pupil, is educator with Bruno Munari’s method®. She founded the Associazione Bruno Munari, and since 1980 she works with workshops for the spreading of the method. Silvana Sperati, Bruno Munari’s pupil, collaborates with Alberto Munari and founded the Associazione Bruno Munari. She conceives and conducts workshops about education to creative design thought, and is director of the educational farm Metodo Munari®. Alberto Munari is son of Bruno Munari, he is psychologist and epistemologist, Professor Emeritus at the University of Geneva and Professor at University of Padua (faculty of education sciences). He has been student and collaborator of the renowned swiss psychologist Jean Piaget.
