Daniela Comani was born in 1965 in Bologna, where in 1988 she graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts. In 1993 she attended the MFA programme at the University of Arts in Berlin. Since 1989 she has lived and worked in Berlin. Winner of awards and scholarships, the artist has participated in numerous collective and personal exhibitions in Italy and abroad. Her work focuses on history, identity and social stereotypes, using the language of those means of communication that interpret social values and cultural practices in our daily lives; topics that she processes in a multimedia environment. Her works are on show in the permanent collections of the Mambo in Bologna, the Kupferstichkabinett at the State Museums of Berlin and the Museum on the Seam in Jerusalem, and elsewhere.
In 2007, Galleria Corraini is exhibited her "It was me. Diary 1900-1999." for the first time, together with the exclusive Italian-English edition of the book
